The beginning of the Lioness look. Friday afternoon. The "cold sore" started Monday morning.

You can see my top eyelids starting to droop down in the corner of my eyes. Friday afternoon.

Saturday morning- more swelling in my upper eyelids. I could feel a lot of swelling but I wasn't in pain nor did I feel sick. But both Ted and I thought I better go into Urgent Care to see why these "cold sores" started going down my nose and I had a blister on the tip of my nose. At Urgent Care the doctor- Glee was her name, her first name:)- told me it was facial cellulitis. Ted by this time had finally found a picture of me under "ocular cellulitis" and she said yes it is cellulitis. All this time we had been looking up things related to herpes. (Note to self: If you get a cold sore in a strange place, it's probably NOT a cold sore! Therefore, treating is as such, i.e. swabbing every form of cold sore medicine on it, will not cure it either.) They gave me a shot of Keflex and an rx of Bactrim.

Next morning the swelling was worse. It was now under my eyelids and into my cheeks. I felt like I was blinking marshmallows. You can see the swelling in the corners of my eyes even though in this picture I am blinking. Ted says he finally realized who I looked like- Avatar. He hadn't seen the movie yet.

I am now in the ER. It was the first time that I was a little worried because I was worse the day after 2 antibiotics. Up to this point, I wasn't worried and could appreciate the humor in it because I never felt sick. No fever, headache, body aches, or pain. I couldn't see it so it didn't bother
me to look at it. In the ER, they gave me Vencomycin through an IV. I could tell a difference by evening that it was reducing the swelling between my eyes. By Monday evening, after the 2nd dose of Vencomycin through an IV, the pressure was noticeably shrinking. The original sore was starting to scab over. They had me finish the rx of Bactrim and put me on Augmentin. Two and a half weeks later, the scab was off. I still have redness and the immediate area is numb but I do not look deformed:)
The day after the ER visit (Monday) Ted pulled Ti and Tate out of school to watch Avatar. Celebrating my recovery?
Ti is 10!!

Happy 70th Birthday, Dad!!
Wednesday, the 24th, we decided to head to Idaho and SURPRISE Dad for his 70th birthday! Thursday, the 25th, we left at 6:00 am. It was a bit of a mad scramble but we pulled it off with flying colors. (School, schmool:)) Since he didn't know we were coming, nor had they ever seen their latest grand baby, we decided to play a trick on them. Grandpa Smack is currently serving as the Bishop in his ward............ Ted decided it was the perfect opportunity to "see how Bishop Smack handles a real SURPRISE!" We found out grandma and grandpa were at the church at the boy scout Blue and Gold banquet. We arrived when they were cleaning up. Sooooo we fabricate a "letter" from a distraught "Sister Lewis" saying that life at home was very difficult at the moment and she was unable to care for her little baby....... and asked the Bishop if he would please take care of the baby until she could come back and get her. We then enlisted an anonymous prankster to help pull off the job. Next, we sent our little Amy, in her car seat with the note and had her hand delivered to Bishop Smack. She played her part perfectly and dropped the baby in his lap and went to the parking lot to she if she could find "Sister Lewis" ........now the bishop was DISTRAUGHT!!! We gave them at least 7 minutes to sweat it out. Then we came walking around the corner to find the perplexed and very somber bishop pacing the halls wondering what to do??? Mom was the first to see us and solved the "mystery baby." She then squeals and says, "This is my grand baby!!!" Only then did the situation become funny. If we would have given him 10 more minutes, dad would have called the cops. Mom kept saying how she didn't think the situation added up,this baby looked too well cared for and she even had a bow in her hair! It appears grandpas heart is good for at least another decade because we put his old "blood pumper" to the test. I am sad to say this is not the first or the last of Teds devious desire to put gray hair on his dads head ? Mom's response....... " oh Ted your rotten"

Emma playing and dancing with the big girl cousins in her Thumbelina dress from Aunt Bonnie. We stopped to see her before heading to Twin and of course she spoiled us all again!!

Dancing and Dancing. Tyson with Emma.

Hanging out watching a movie.
While we had the duplicates there, we had to get the pictures!

Amy's Blessing Day

I am so glad we were able to bless her while we had so much family around. We hadn't planned it this way but it was really special. Amy wore Kara's blessing dress. She looked like such an angel and she was so happy through the whole thing, pictures, etc.
Ted thinks the flower is too big??
